Open Arms is an accredited and Medicare certified Home Health Agency with its parent office in Des Moines, Iowa.
This position is located at its branch office in Ames, IA located in The Rose of Ames.
The Rose of Ames is a licensed Assisted Living Facility, and together, we are leaders in providing affordable housing with home care services to the elderly population of Ames and the surrounding area.
All homecare clients reside at The Rose of Ames, so the position offers a stable office environment without travel, which is required with other home care agencies in Ames.
Open Arms serves a relatively low acuity residential population at The Rose.

Job Description:
We are looking for a thoughtful and compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly outside a clinical setting.
Home care offers the ability to make a significant difference in the life of the patient.
The position requires good time management skills while providing each patient with the time and attention necessary to meet his or her needs.
The Staff Nurse-RN will work in collaboration with the clinical manager and agency administrator, providing oversight of the delivery of services provided to agency clients at the single practice location.
Responsibilities include:
Assessments/OASIS evaluations, recertifications and clinical charting Generate plans of care and assign appropriate cares Performing evaluation tasks, including vital signs and medication regime review Supervise provision of personal cares by home health aide staff Coordinate with therapists, physicians, care coordinators and other health care professionals involved in the patient's plan of care Educate patients and their families on proper home health strategies and procedures Administrative duties, including staff supervision and evaluations The ability to multi-task and problem solve is essential.
The successful candidate will possess strong clinical, communication, team-building and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications include:
Active Iowa RN License.
Strong clinical and assessment skills.
Prior home care experience - preferred - employer will train.
Experience with OASIS and Medicare/Medicaid regulations for Home Care - preferred - employer will train.
Prior experience in QA, Performance Improvement or Nurse Education preferred.
Strong computer skills and experience with EMR software - employer will train on software.
Excellent communication, organizational and mentoring skills.
Supervisory experience in home care.
