POSITION SUMMARY Cares for and feeds animals at Nittobo America Inc.
Operates farm equipment and performs farm operation duties.
Some weekend and holiday work required.
Overtime maybe required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Replenishes grain and hay to goats daily.
Ensure water supplies are adequate.
Assists with transporting, weighing, vaccinations, medications, recording information and other animal procedures.
Reports animal illnesses or problems to Manager or Animal Lab Specialist and Care for animals as directed.
Trims goat hooves and hair using proper methods.
Records goat information on forms accurately and legibly.
Cleans goat pens using hand tools and skid loader.
Removes bedding from pens using skid loader, manure spreader and tractor.
Unloads and stores hay and straw.
Repairs and builds pens, gates, fences, bunks, etc.
as necessary.
Maintains farmyard by mowing, grading driveway, removing snow, etc.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to be successful in this position:
Requires the physical agility and strength to handle animals and to move quickly around animals that weigh up to 400 pounds.
Requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently.
Requires the skill and knowledge to maintain equipment, buildings and grounds by safely operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, farm equipment and vehicles.
Requires the ability to work outside and in a frequently dusty/hot/cold animal environment.
Previous related work experience required.
A farm background is preferred.
Vet Tech experience is a plus.
