Job Description:
Reporting through the Office of the Provost, the Office of Admissions fulfills Iowa State's land grant mission by recruiting, reviewing, and enrolling a diverse group of new undergraduate and graduate students to meet the university's enrollment targets.
The Office of Admissions is seeking qualified candidates for a Record Analyst I position to support Admissions Operations.
The successful candidate will make undergraduate admissions decisions based on university requirements, use good judgment in unusual cases, perform analyses and make recommendations based upon written and interpreted collegiate policy.
As part of evaluating undergraduate applications, the Record Analyst I reviews academic transcripts and course offerings from secondary and/or post-secondary schools, and determines if courses are acceptable in satisfying requirements for admissions and/or transfer credit.
Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn are key.
Customer service experience working with diverse populations is preferred.
The duties of this position may vary across the processing operation and will require the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and manage workload; the ability to follow oral and written instructions and interpret institutional and other policies accurately; the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public, both in writing and orally; the ability to gather, analyze, and display data in appropriate format; data entry skills for speed and accuracy; and strong computer skills and knowledge.
This individual may also be tasked with maintaining computer files and compiling lists and other data for periodic and special reports; receiving and answering inquiries by mail and by telephone; reviewing the work of other clerical personnel for conformance to established guidelines as well as current procedures within area of assignment; and recommending procedural changes as required.
This is a term position with an end date of 12/15/2024.

oAssigns, coordinates, and reviews the work of other clerical personnel for conformance to established guidelines.
oReviews current procedures within area of assignment and recommends procedural changes as required.
