Job Description:
The College of Engineering communications and marketing office is taking applications for a communications specialist II to play a key role in promoting the college.
This position will serve as a central resource in the college communications department working closely with two assigned engineering academic departments to help strategize, plan and execute their communication and marketing projects.
This position reports to the assistant director of engineering communications and marketing; works directly with academic leadership, staff and faculty in the departments served; and works closely with other members of the college communications team.
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
Serve as the primary communications and marketing leader for two college academic departments.
Work closely with department leadership, faculty and staff to identify communication opportunities to promote and brand the departments.
Create and implement short and long term projects targeted toward a variety of audiences.
Develop creative content focused on telling impactful stories about students, faculty, alums, events, news and research discoveries.
Interview subjects, research background, develop text and any images or video, and determine best methods of sharing content across many platform options.
Utilize graphics skills to design projects for print and digital platforms following established university and college brand guidelines.
Offer creative solutions to meet the project goals and engage target audiences.
Mange robust department social media channels by planning and creating content utilizing best practice social media skills.
Identify key audiences and messages to share across the various platforms.
Manage department websites within the overall established college framework with ability to make short and long term recommendations to keep content and design relevant.
Importance given to digital accessibility standards and following university guidelines.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
