Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field Experience using microbiology techniques in a laboratory setting Experience with setup, calibration, use and maintenance of equipment such as laboratory balances, pH meters, spectrophotometers, power supplies, hotplates, stirrers, centrifuges, incubators, thermocyclers, growing plants, and -80C freezers.
Job Description:
Iowa State University's Department of Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Microbiology is seeking a Research Technician II to support two of our core departmental labs and core facilities within our state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.
Example of Duties Performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency.
Collects, analyzes, and processes laboratory samples or research data.
Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions.
Determines testing methods for non-standardized test.
Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and operates lab equipment.
Assists scientists with research and record findings in the field or lab.
Maintains sample tracking.
This is a term position with excellent opportunity for renewal.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
