PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Directs and coordinates activities of credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers by performing the following duties personally or through co-workers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Coordinates activities for investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications Establishes credit limitations on customer accounts and handles special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment Investigates or initiates possible legal action and collection for insufficient checks and delinquent invoices Reviews delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.
Verifies accuracy of accounts.
Drafts correspondence for use in collection attempts and applies appropriate telephone and mail collection activities Audits delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before recommending bad debt status to account Processes monthly statements Submits delinquent accounts to attorney or small claims for collection Assists management in the formulation of credit policies Prepares reports for management on credit and collection activities OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Assists in Agri-Finance and Crop Insurance administration Addresses and handles inquires, requests and complaints from customers and/or company employees.
May be required to drive and run local errands as requested.
Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply Performs all other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Normally requires an Associate's degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and a minimum of six months of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to travel 10% of the time; sometimes overnight.
Occasionally lift 21-50 lbs.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
