Job Description:
The Program Development and Evaluation Service Unit with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for a Database Administrator II.
The Database Administrator will be the lead customer service representative of the Program Development and Evaluation team's MyData reporting database, facilitating in-person and online user-interface trainings; facilitating monthly virtual open office hours; and developing resource guides, online training modules, and promotional materials.
The successful candidate will chair the MyData User Support Subcommittee and will be the Program Development and Evaluation team's MyData and service unit website content editor.
In partnership with the Program Development and Evaluation Director, the successful candidate will also provide ISU Extension and Outreach evaluation points of contact program evaluation and reporting assistance.
The Database Administrator will address and troubleshoot day-to-day MyData user issues, while also ensuring alignment between organizational outcome and impact data entry and reporting.
Another responsibility for the position is representing the Program Development and Evaluation team and the organization's centralized data and reporting system (MyData) at statewide educational events including area meetings, conferences, and regional workshops sharing and interpreting MyData data visualization reports.
This position is integral in assessing the database's user-interface relevancy and functionality among administration, program staff, faculty, county services staff, and county extension partners.
The successful candidate will be instrumental as a conduit among county extension office MyData users, organizational evaluation reporting points of contact, and the Program Development and Evaluation operations unit.
The successful candidate will be a motivated initiative-taker with strong customer service and leadership skills along with having the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team-based environments.
The position requires strategic innovation and program management skills to effectively manage, implement and assess MyData user experiences and communications.
Professional, detail-oriented, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the person in this position will be using a variety of in-person and virtual platforms to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and end users within ISU Extension and Outreach and Iowa State University.
The ideal candidate will have database management technical skills with a working knowledge of Salesforce.
They will possess key customer service characteristics and have a strong understanding of how databases are used to store and report evaluation data.
The candidate should be able to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, secure needed information, and mobilize internal and external resources.
In-state travel will be required for this position.
