Job Description:
Recreation Services at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a Sport Club Coordinator position, which will be classified as a Recreation Services Specialist I.
Recreation Services offers the freedom of individuality through a wide range of diverse programs, activities, and facilities.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Safety and Risk Management Operations Ensures that all risk management and emergency procedures are consistently applied to all sport clubs.
Monitors conditions of facilities/playing locations to ensure safety requirements are met prior to the activity starting.
Helps create and update safety/risk management procedures when necessary.
Oversees inventory for all clubs to ensure equipment meets the required standards of use.
Monitors both the pre-activity assessment for all club activities and incident report forms following relevant events.
Safety and Risk Management Trainings Develops and delivers general safety training for all club members on an annual basis.
Advises clubs on sport specific safety trainings.
Trains club health safety officers on a semesterly basis and ensures compliance from club leadership.
Delivers advisor trainings each semester for all clubs.
Facilities Logistics and Event Coordination Assists in coordinating daily practice schedules and facility reservations.
Coordinates with the facilities staff to reserve the necessary spaces for practices/games.
Oversees club home events and helping student leaders coordinate those activities as needed.
Assists in ensuring clubs are participating in safe and organized activities (home or away).
Student Staff Supervision Hires, trains, oversees, and evaluates a group of student employees hired to assist in the day-to-day operations of sport clubs.
Develops schedules and manages payroll for student employees.
Develops projects of moderate complexity and assists as necessary.
Youth Program Management In collaboration with other coordinators on Recreation Services' staff, assists with the coordination and oversight of various youth programs.
This may include summer camps, break programs, sport leagues, lessons, special events and other opportunities based on needs.
Builds relationships with schools, daycares, and after-school programs in the community.
Program Assessment and Evaluation Infuses learning outcomes into all program related curriculum and planning.
Uses various assessment types and tools to measure learning outcomes, program objectives, and determine program changes.
Other duties assigned.
