This position reports to the Ames District 1 Office in Ames, Iowa Work Hours:

45 AM to 4:
30 PM, Monday through Friday, hours may vary; some travel (primarily for training or meetings) and occasionally overnight.
Engineering Office Assistant 2
Responsibilities:
Serves as principal assistant to the District Management Staff including but not limited to District Engineer, Assistant District Engineer, District Construction Engineer, and District Maintenance Manager Plans, coordinates, and organizes office activities and flows of communications for the District Management Staff Serves as lead worker for other administration staff and coordinates and directs workloads as assigned Maintains confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information Assists District Management Staff with hiring and onboarding processes Supports District supervisory functions such as performance evaluations, staff actions, out of state travel requests, and processing system access Develops, maintains, monitors, and tracks the formal agreements with other state agencies, other states, counties, municipalities, and Drainage Districts Leads the District working with Office of Purchasing and administer and audit payments to the contractor Creates and maintains databases to be used for analysis, tracking, and monitoring a variety of business functions Establishes and maintains vendor accounts for outside services for the district office.
Serves as the first contact with the public for inquiries on the services provided or assets that are maintained Operates computer programs such as WorkDay, Asset Works, Microsoft Office applications, and internally developed software programs What we offer YOU:

Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
All of the following (a and b):
Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency; and A total of five years of full-time experience in highway design, maintenance, construction, or materials; or administrative support in inventory management, training programs, administrative recordkeeping or closely related areas.
A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as an Engineering Office Assistant 1 or three years of full-time work experience in highway design, maintenance, construction, or materials.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
