Job Description:
The Office of Innovation Commercialization (OIC) includes the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer (OIPTT) and the Iowa State University Research Foundation, Inc.
(ISURF), reporting to the Vice President for Economic Development, work in concert to facilitate and enhance the inventive and creative works of Iowa State University's employees and students, and to transfer these works for the benefit of society.
Come join a multidisciplinary team to explore the commercial potential of ISU innovations, develop marketing strategies, and identify potential licensees to increase Iowa State University's impact.

Example of Duties Assist with commercialization and compliance activities Reviews and manages a portfolio of new intellectual property disclosures.
Assures information accuracy.
Investigates issues regarding public disclosure, sponsor rights, and funding.
Assists in reviewing disclosures.
Assists with marketing activities for technologies, developing briefs, identifying companies, and executing the marketing plan.
Gathers information for pre-negotiation and assist in preparing and executing agreements for licensing.
Level Guidelines Career-level position demonstrating proficiency and knowledge of related competencies Works under direct to general supervision and may receive guidance on more complex assignments Follows established procedures for work assignments, and completes assignments which are semi-routine and may be atypical in nature Applies thorough knowledge to respond to inquiries and requests Able to resolve most problems and issues and respond to requests without escalation Provides guidance to students May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team Appointment Type:
