Job Description:
The Office of the Registrar at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Registrar.
The Associate Registrar is a strategic role in the Office of the Registrar that reports directly to the University Registrar, and serves as a critical member of the office's leadership and management team.
This position leads and directs both the Academic Records and the Registration teams within the office and is directly responsible for strategic planning and decision making, enforcing academic policies and procedures related to student information and academic records, continuous improvement, communicates requirements for the Workday Student platform, and budget development and management for the teams it oversees.
This position works closely with the newly-created student information system unit to support, continuously implement, and improve the registrar-related system requirements in the Workday Student product within the purview of the teams it oversees, while meeting the varying and diverse needs of campus, and ensuring compliance with national best practices and adhering to federal, state, and university policies.
This individual will work with the platform to meet functional needs of the Registrar Office and Institutional clients it supports.
The individual must be highly accountable to provide strategic leadership and decision-making to meet the evolving needs at Iowa State University.
The Associate Registrar has strong knowledge of academic policy and procedures; a robust technical aptitude; a keen focus on delivery of services; the ability to make sound decisions on behalf of their teams; solid understanding of operational, policy, and procedural issues; and the ability to provide sound and reasoned guidance and direction.
The individual must effectively communicate and coordinate across an organization - both internally and externally - to achieve key deliverables.
Additionally, as a member of AACRAO and UMACRAO, it is expected the Associate Registrar will continuously engage with these professional networks to remain current on relevant topics, solutions, regulations, best practices, and cutting-edge opportunities.
This position will serve alongside the University Registrar as the lead student records data steward for the university and key administrator responsible for the confidentiality and security of student academic records in compliance with academic policies and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations across the university.
The Associate Registrar is charged with, and will be evaluated on, strong team leadership, strategic thinking, and management skills, as well as the ability to execute operational tasks.
The Office of the Registrar expects this individual to be motivated by delivering superior customer service, exceptional results, and inspiring positive, lasting, and impactful change.
As Associate Registrar, this individual will represent the Office of the Registrar in multiple capacities, while coordinating with leaders at the university, college, and department levels.
Example of Duties Develops policies and procedures for the Office of the Registrar.
Plans, directs and coordinates units within the Office of the Registrar.
Ensures compliance with University policies and Federal laws.
Manages staff.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
