Job Description:
Summary Iowa State University Library is seeking a highly organized and collaborative individual for the position of Processing Archivist.
This position supports access to and preservation of Special Collections and University Archives rare and unique resources, including analog and born digital formats, through physical arrangement and intellectual description.
The Archivist will be responsible for conducting surveys of collections of all sizes, recommending processing levels and priorities, and carrying out all arrangement and description activities.
The Processing Archivist will also provide reference services to researchers by completing several reference desk shifts per week, and assisting with in-depth reference requests as needed.
They will participate in administrative duties such as submitting reports, contributing to the development of action plans for the unit, and possibly supervising student workers.
The Archivist is expected to contribute to the library and professional community through committee service, conference presentations, and/or scholarship.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.
S.
on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
