The Key Holder is responsible for assisting the Store Manager as needed.
Key Holders will be asked to open or close the store.
Key Holder duties also include handling operational procedures (e.
g.
, bank deposits, paperwork, reporting), providing customer service, and keeping the store clean and organized.
The Key Holder will assist in training employees/volunteers, along with assisting workers to resolve work problems.
The Key Holder will perform the activities of the workers supervised when needed.
What you'll do:
Operate cash register and practice safe cash handling Provide good customer service and answer and/or reply to customer needs and ensure employees do the same.
Prepare shift deposit, and shift count report Prepare daily store report as instructed Calculate and balance cash register Select, inspect, clean and price donations Ensure quality of goods processed meet standards Stock, clean, and maintain sales floor and product rotation Receive donations from the public Sort incoming donations, maintain records of incoming goods, and ship sorted donations to receiving destination Foster and demonstrate a positive team environment.
Assist with training and supervising employees, trainees and/or volunteers.
What you'll need:
High school diploma or GED - Four (4) years of any combination of military service, high school, or related full-time paid employment may substitute for education requirement.
Previous related full-time employment, including supervisory experience.
Excellent customer service skills Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends Ability to carry, lift, push or pull 40 pounds Ability to tolerate variations in work environment temperature Ability to stand for long periods of time Effective communication and basic math skills Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance A valid Iowa driver license, a good driving record, and ability to provide proof of personal vehicle insurance with a minimum of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident auto insurance liability coverage Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a dependent adult and child abuse background check This position requires a flexible schedule which includes days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs Goodwill of Central Iowa and our affiliates are Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employers (EOE/M/F/Vet/Disability) and E-Verify Participants CITYVIEW Best Local Thrift Shop of 2019, 2020, and 2023 winner!.
