We are seeking a Ground maintenance worker with horticultural knowledge about successful and appropriate plantings in central Iowa as well as experience in relevant maintenance techniques and attention to detail.
Seeking an individual who is flexible with an eagerness to learn.
Responsibilities and Duties --Works with Landscape Designer/Supervisor to create and execute a successful maintenance plan for a multi-site local facility.
-- Works independently and efficiently, while also having the flexibility of working on a team and/or directing other crew members on what to do for large site projects.
--Communicates a need for plant replacements or needed additions, providing a suggested alternative to the landscape supervisor.
Planting said plants using proper plant installation specifications and techniques to ensure long lasting success, including watering new planting and annual pots.
-- Performs detail weeding and perennial seasonal clean-up for sites, as well as maintaining bed/mulch material.
--Apply overall duties to a smaller scale for residential property owners, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills --Landscape maintenance experience; Degree in Horticulture field OR projected graduation in Horticulture field.
--Needs to have strong communication skills ----Have decent identification skills between weed material and perennial plants to be able to properly maintain beds.
--Have plant maintenance knowledge that can be applied to site facilities to help combat weed, pest and disease issues for perennial plants and/or soil amendment issues, within reason.
-- Must have a valid driver's licsense.
Experience pulling a trailer is a plus.
Pay based on experience or years of schooling.
