Clinical Research Nurse/Associate (PT) | Hematology/Oncology | Ames | 2024-032

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for Clinical Research Nurse/Associate for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients. Position comes with competitive clinic pay and valuable benefits package.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assess the eligibility of candidates for oncology clinical research trials.
  • Coordinates the informed consent process in conjunction with the physician, patient and caregiver including providing ongoing education of the patient and caregiver regarding the study.
  • Complies with regulations, institutional policies and sponsor requirements governing source data and documentation.
  • Facilitates the collection, organization, documentation and submission of data for National Cooperative Groups including but not limited to annual reports, protocol changes and adverse events.
  • Prepares for and participates in FDA, State and cooperative group audits and sites visits as required.
  • Acts as a liaison between the principle investigator, cancer center staff and study sponsors.

Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for RN level position only, not required for Associate

Certification/License
  • Possession of a State Registered Nurse license. (RN level position only, not required for Associate)
  • Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers.

Days: 4 days per week/30 hours a week
Hours: 30 hours per week
Experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous clinical research experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing with at least 2 years of those being in the area of oncology nursing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
