The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is accepting applications for an Adjunct Instructor/Emergency and Critical Care Intern for the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC). This internship will be a joint appointment incorporating training in both academic and private practice emergency medicine and critical care through the LVMC and its affiliated hospital, Iowa Veterinary Specialties (IVS) in Des Moines, Iowa.
The appointment will provide training and clinical experience in each facility and will involve triage and workup of emergency cases, as well as management and care of inpatients under the supervision of a board eligible ECC specialist and multiple experienced emergency veterinary clinicians. In addition, specialists in multiple ancillary specialties of veterinary medicine are available for consultation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting in receiving of referral and emergency cases, supporting regional referral veterinarians in case management, monitoring patients hospitalized in the ICU at the LVMC and IVS, developing ongoing management and diagnostic plans for patients hospitalized through the emergency service at IVS, teaching and assisting rotating small animal interns and LVMC and IVS technicians and tech assistants, instructing fourth year veterinary students during rotations, participating in fourth year student rounds discussions, and attending and participating in house officer seminars.
The selected candidate will be expected to prepare one presentation for each of the following seminars: pathophysiology rounds, morbidity and mortality rounds, case review seminar, and student topic rounds. The intern is encouraged to prepare and submit a manuscript in a clinical or scientific journal. Additional responsibilities will include on-call and after hours support duties for patients requiring long term positive pressure ventilation, peritoneal dialysis, or other advanced life-support duties. - Graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary college or have completed the AVMA ECFVG Certification Program or the PAVE Certification Program.
- Ability to obtain an Iowa Veterinary license on or before start date.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
