The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) seeks applicants for a Program Assistant I position who will be primarily responsible for conducting research to assist in securing grant funding for CALS faculty and staff.
In addition, this position completes tasks related to identifying and distributing grant funding opportunities; performs searches for funding opportunities on a daily basis; writes and edits weekly and longer-term reports on funding opportunities; and updates a funding resources website. The position will also be responsible for formatting and editing documents for grant submissions using exact and specific requirements of the granting agency, formatting and editing other documents, and creating Word and Excel documents. The incumbent may occasionally help with general office duties such as filing, running errands, and special projects.
The successful candidate will possess excellent writing, interpersonal, and communication skills; the ability to work independently; and the ability to meet strict deadlines. The candidate will possess the ability to use discretion while working on confidential matters. The ability to conduct high-level internet searches is essential to the duties of this position. Bachelor''s degree and some related experience OR a combination of related education and experience totaling more than four years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
