Science Bound is Iowa State University''s premier program for recruiting, retaining and preparing ethnically diverse Iowa youth to obtain positions in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Science Bound is currently seeking qualified candidates who enjoy a team environment to apply for our Program Assistant II position.
The primary function of the Program Assistant II is to direct the fiscal duties of the Science Bound program. The incumbent will be responsible for budget management, internal fiscal reporting system development and oversight, undergraduate scholarship award system development and oversight, establishing budget priorities, and grant proposal investigation, development and reporting. Additional duties include working collaboratively with the Science Bound team to develop and deliver student, family and teacher programming. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be necessary several times a month.
The successful candidate will have effective written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with a lively team that values collaboration internally and service externally to the more than 400 students Science Bound is developing as future science, technology, engineering and mathematics leaders in three Iowa school districts and at ISU. The candidate will also be accurate; possess strong organizational, time management and data analysis skills; demonstrate the ability to apply policies and procedures; and possess the ability to exercise judgment and discretion.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
