Manager, Rail Fleet

The purpose of this job is to be responsible for and assist with support functions, rail car management, optimization functions, and development support. This position is also responsible to work across the organization to bring more efficiency to the transportation services.
Key Accountabilities:
Support Functions
Ability to supervise a team ranging in size from 1 to more than 10 as needed
Develop departmental talent to achieve higher productivity and efficiency
Provide superior service to transportation?s customers (internal and external) and minimize issues related to transportation
Manage the overall Transportation Compliance Program as it relates to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
Rail Car Management
Identify synergies within the organization that will optimize rail lane costs and routing efficiencies
Manage a fleet of from 600 to 1500 rail cars
Optimize rail car fleet that will meet all corporate and customer service requirements without duplication or extra demurrage costs
Negotiate major carrier contracts and rail contracts (fuel surcharge, demurrage, and other accessory costs related to Logistics)
Optimization Functions
Optimize JD Edwards segment related to Transportation so data is accurate and usable
Work across the organization to bring more efficiency to the transportation services and increase overall product margins
Function at a high level of data entry and evaluation while maintaining daily responsibility for all rail issues
Utilize efficiency tools to increase process efficiency and eliminate non value added processes and costs
Development Support
Develop contingencies for times when contract carriers are not available. Implement as necessary to achieve target customer service requirements
Develop and implement cost savings processes that will maximize lane utilization and reduce back office transportation costs
Develop monthly scorecard on key logistics metrics and distribute to management and vendors
Other frequent duties:
Eliminate duplicate activities in JD Edwards
Integrate Oracle Transportation Management
Make complex decisions possessing flexibility to resolve customer issues
Perform other duties as assigned
Education Required : 4 year bachelor?s degree ? Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related degree
Graduate degree preferred
Experience Required : 10+ years in with a background in Transportation Management including Tanker Trucks-liquid bulk and drums and Liquid tanks for rail cars preferred
Experience with a minimum of a $150 million transportation budget preferred
Skills Required :
Advanced Excel skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Extensive math and accounting skills
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Special skills or knowledge preferred:
JD Edwards
Experience in integrating acquisitions
Knowledge of DOT and FRA compliance
Knowledge in cost efficiency and vendor negotiations
Oracle Transportation Management

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
