Extension Program Specialist III - Crop Sciences Youth Education Specialist

The Agriculture and Natural Resources program with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for an Extension Program Specialist III ? Crop Sciences Youth Education Specialist. The Extension Program Specialist will provide leadership and direction for the Iowa 4-H Youth Development Crop Science-STEM priority topic area, guiding development, implementation, evaluation and capacity building related to quality K-12 Youth Crop Science programming. The Extension Program Specialist will be responsible for implementing and aligning Crop Science-STEM programming as it relates to the Iowa 4-H Program Priorities and Equation; identifying and developing curricula along with curricula delivery strategies related to the 4-H Crop Science-STEM projects; and preparing and delivering training to staff, volunteers, and partners. This includes initiating, organizing, planning and developing educational programs for youth and those who provide youth education about crop protection and production. This position will also be active in promoting support for 4-H Crop Science-STEM programming among staff, volunteers, partners, and youth. The Extension Program Specialist III will make continuous collaborative efforts with working groups, campus departments, extension offices, 4-H entities, industry, commodity groups, and state and community partners; and with Crop Science faculty and staff and State 4-H Youth Program Specialists. The incumbent will also prepare summary reports for the Crop Extension and Outreach Leadership Team. All of the duties will be performed in conjunction with monitoring multiple project budgets and expenditures, and providing recommendations funding utilization. The successful candidate will have strong public speaking, teaching, and presentation skills along with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals and groups including youth, youth educators, underrepresented audiences, volunteers, industry, ISU faculty and staff, and individuals from disparate backgrounds. The successful candidate will also have the ability to collaborate and build relationships and partnerships with the abovementioned individuals and groups and a strong knowledge of positive youth development. Incumbent must possess project management skills, conflict resolution skills, and computer skills related to word processing, communication, spreadsheets, presentations and data management. Because of the wide variety of topic areas present within Crop Sciences, strong organizational, time management, leadership skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are also a necessity for this position to be successful.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
