Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Rural Sociology

The Department of Sociology invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track position with expertise in the social dimensions of agriculture and environment/natural resources. The position will be open rank, with preference given to candidates with strong research programs and demonstrated capacity to secure extramural funding. The position will be 60% research and 40% extension appointment. The position will be a full-time, 12-month appointment. Consistent with Iowa State University's mission as a land grant university, the candidates must be willing to focus their research and extension activities in agriculture and environment/natural resources relevant to Iowa and the Midwest. Research will be set up through the Iowa Agriculture & Home Economics Experiment Station. Faculty with extension responsibilities are expected to incorporate their research into effective extension programming across Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Extension. Excellent opportunities exist for interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments and programs at Iowa State University, and candidates will be expected to engage in interdisciplinary research and extension projects.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
