Hydrologic Technician

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. GS-05 Qualifying experience for GS-05 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-04 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience collecting, preparing, and evaluating agricultural samples; maintaining hydrology and meteorological instrumentation; and maintaining and operating laboratory or field equipment. OR Education:
Applicants may substitute successful completion of a full four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of science (i.e., geology, chemistry, physics, geophysics, biology, ecology, mathematics, soils, forestry, meteorology, hydrology, oceanography, physical science, atmospheric science) engineering, construction, or industrial technology, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours, or the equivalent, in any combination of courses such as engineering, industrial technology, construction drafting, surveying, physical science, biology, or mathematics.ORA combination of graduate education and experience as described above. OR A combination of specialized experience and education. GS-06 Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience collecting, preparing, and evaluating agricultural samples; maintaining hydrology and meteorological instrumentation; maintaining and operating laboratory or field equipment; and assisting in recognizing or reporting issues with the results of a biological experiment. OR Education:
one full years of progressively higher level education leading to a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, if directly related to the position. Related degrees may include Plant Science, Soil Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Hydrology, Environmental Science and Agricultural Systems Management.ORA combination of graduate education and experience as described above. OR A combination of specialized experience and education. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
