Degree:
microbiology; or biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included at least 20 semester hours in microbiology and other subjects related to the study of microorganisms, and 20 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences combining course work in organic chemistry or biochemistry, physics, and college algebra, or their equivalent. OR Combination of education and
Experience:
courses equivalent to a major in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education which demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation and together meet the requirements for this position. FOR THE GS-07 LEVEL:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-5 grade level) that demonstrates:
Performing technical quantitative and qualitative scientific assays using proper pipetting technique, sample handling, and record keeping in adherence to laboratory scientific policy and quality standards. Identifying problems and follow routine troubleshooting steps on common assays. Performing serial dilution calculations and mathematical analyses to correlate and verify test results. OR successful completion of at least one full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in Microbiology or other biological sciences related to the position. OR Superior Academic Achievement:
To qualify based on superior academic achievement, you must have completed the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND must meet certain GPA requirements. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level. TRANSCRIPTS are required if:

Applicants may have combinations of successfully completed education and specialized experience to meet total qualification requirements. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
